I will hereby be filing a lawsuit against you for watching dumb movies. You should be watching something worthwhile, like "The Sound of Music". Have fun!
It's a love/hate relationship. I resisted having anything to do with Twilight for a long time, but got suckered into watching the first two movies with a friend. They were (and still are) so horrible that I laughed and groaned through the whole thing!! Then this past summer I was desperate for something easy and trashy to read, so I read the whole series and surprisingly didn't hate the books at all. Not epic works of literary genius by any means (I also read Ann Rice's vampire series so I have a lot of issues with Stephanie Meiers' portrayal of vampires) but...once I read the books I then just HAD to go back and watch the movies. They really are still bad, and I so still make fun of Kristen Stewart the whole time but....for some reason I'm hooked. I'm a sucker for vampire romance I guess.
I'm a 28-year-old mommy to four beautiful, crazy, loud, smarty-pants children. I'm a registered nurse and a part-time photographer and I blog like my life depends on it. I'm really neurotic about my house being clean, which is becoming more and more difficult as the kids (and their messes) get bigger. I love warm weather, coffee of all kinds, and getting my hair cut. I hate when technology doesn't work right and I hate snow/freezing cold weather. I try not to take myself too seriously and I'm a very sarcastic person. I'm kind of a freak about spelling and grammar, so please feel free to point out any mistakes you see in my blog posts and I'll fix them immediately. Oh yeah, and I'm also a little bit Type A. Enjoy my ramblings!
Calvin -- The Hubs
Calvin is currently working on getting his Doctorate in Adult Higher Education at USD. Summer of 2013 is his goal for graduating (again!) and I'm anxiously awaiting that date. We have been dealing with school and papers and homework since we got married in 2003! He works as the Director of the TRIO programs on campus and is very passionate about his work and his students. He is also very passionate about video games, and hunting/fishing/trapping. Any chance he gets, he takes our kids into the great outdoors to experience the splendor that is muskrat trapping or tanning a deer hide. He once stored a deer carcass in our deep freezer for a year without my knowledge. I was disgusted when I found out about it. But I love him anyway.
Peyton Danielle
Peyton is 9 years old and in the fourth grade. She alternates between being the *best* big sister and the *best* helper to being...well, a typical know-it-all tweenager. She has her moments. Peyton is in Tae Kwon Do and she absolutely loves it. She recently earned her blue belt and is working hard to climb her way up the ranks to black belt and 'ass-kicker extraordinaire'. In her free time she enjoys reading (Harry Potter is her current favorite), playing on her Kindle and hanging out with friends. She has a huge soft spot for animals, especially dogs, and has already decided that she's going to raise various species of pets rather than getting married and having kids. I say "go for it, sister!"
Emerson Hayes
Describing Emmy is difficult. She is just so full of life and full of energy...she doesn't know how to do anything halfway. Emmy is 7 years old and is in 1st this year. She's a pretty sharp girl, and especially loves to read...most nights we have to pry her books from her fingers and force her to turn the lights off. It's amazing to watch her pick up on new words and sounds every single day. She is very quick-witted and always has us in stitches with her funny sayings. She is a very stubborn little girl and can be defiant at times. If I had to guess which of my kids will give me the most gray hair, I'd guess this one. But I love her spunk and wouldn't change a thing about her.
Hudson William
No longer the baby of the family, Hudson is adjusting well to life as a big brother. He is 4 and is in his second year of preschool now, which has been such a great adventure for him. Hudson is big into electronics: video games, iPhone apps, computers, etc. You name it, he can figure it out in record time. Hudson is in the non-stop-talking stage of life that all of my kids have gone through, and quite frankly it drives me a little bit nuts. But if you don't speak loud enough or long enough in this house, odds are you won't be heard...he's just learning to get his point across. Hudson hates windy days, costumes, kites, and having his hair touched. He loves Sonic the Hedgehog and Super Mario Brothers. He's my sweet little blondie, and honestly he can do no wrong in my eyes
Colton Gage
Colton is the newest kid on the block...and the LAST! His most recent endeavors include climbing onto dangerously-high surfaces, unrolling toilet paper, and spill cat food everywhere. Despte his (ahem) abundant energy I swear he's the sweetest baby I've ever laid eyes on, but I'm probably biased. Colton loves to be in the great outdoors and would probably live outside if I could think of enough ways to entertain him there. He loves books, food, and Mommy.
